The Minister of Defence of Ukraine Rustem Umerov stated that Ukraine is interested in the further development of cooperation in the defence sector with Romania - one of Ukraine’s key partners.
In Kyiv, the Minister of Defence took part in Ukrainian-Romanian intergovernmental consultations led by the prime ministers of the two neighbouring countries.
In his speech, Rustem Umerov welcomed the joint meeting as a powerful signal for bilateral cooperation and thanked the Romanian partners for their unwavering support in the fight against russian aggression.
"We received significant help from Romania in the defence sector. Support from Romanian friends is felt on the battlefield both on the ground and in the air," said the Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
Rustem Umerov is convinced that the cooperation of the two countries around the Black Sea will also be strengthened to restore regional security.
During the bilateral meeting, the Minister of Defence of Ukraine thanked his Romanian counterpart Angel Tîlvăr and his team for the stable operation of the logistics hub and for the efforts to train Ukrainian specialists on the territory of Romania.
Rustem Umerov and Angel Tîlvăr also discussed areas for further cooperation and the experience of Romania in NATO integration.
