Ukrainian delegation led by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Canada. The Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, informed about the results of the meetings with Canadian partners.
"Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the allocation of additional 650 million CAD for assistance to Ukraine over three years to purchase armored vehicles, including evacuation vehicles. Canada will also send instructors to train Ukrainian pilots on the F-16, the Minister of Defence noted.
He also said that he had a meeting today with the Minister of National Defense of Canada, Bill Blair, and the Chief of Defense Staff of the Canadian Forces, General Wayne Eyre.
I am grateful for the aid package announced during Ramstein meeting and for additional 33 million CAD to strengthen Ukraine's air defence. Canada is a powerful driver of support for Ukraine - it shares technical experience and transfers potential within the framework of the PROTECT project.
According to Rustem Umerov, since the beginning of the large-scale invasion of the russian federation, Canada has provided 1.8 billion CAD in military aid to Ukraine.
Since 2015, Canada has trained more than 37,000 of our defenders as part of Operation UNIFIER, which continues today.
We appreciate this! Thank you! We are moving forward to Victory!", emphasized the Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
