The discussion of the promising areas for the capabilities implementation in corruption detecting took place at the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine

During the meeting at the Ministry of Defence, promising areas for the capabilities realization in detecting corruption risks in the leading areas of the Ministry of Defence during martial law were discussed. The meeting was attended by Colonel of Justice Serhii Stepanian, Head of the Corruption Prevention and Detection Department of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, Olena Tregub, Executive Director of The Independent Anti-Corruption Commission (NAKO) NGO, and Svitlana Musiiaka, Head of Research and Policy of NAKO.

The participants of the meeting focused on issues related to defence procurement, management of land and non-core assets of the Ministry of Defence, rear, medical and housing provision, implementation of international aid in the security sector, development of anti-corruption programs, support and interaction with the Transparency International Ukraine international NGO, organisation of public discussions on Government Defence Integrity Index (GDI) of the Ministry of Defence, etc.

The representatives of the Ministry of Defence outlined clear prospects for further fruitful cooperation with NAKO experts to fulfil the tasks and measures of the State Anti-Corruption Program 2023-2025, the Anti-Corruption Program of the Ministry of Defence and for further strengthening the system of corruption prevention and detection in the Ministry of Defence.
The NAKO assured comprehensive support, including support in implementation of tasks and measures of integrity building and achieving zero tolerance for corruption in the Ministry of Defence. These tasks and measures are determined by the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, are based on NATO standards, and comply with international requirements.

Along with external monitoring of anti-corruption activities of the Ministry of Defence, The Independent Anti-Corruption Commission (NAKO) provides expert, educational, methodical, and practical assistance to the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine in anti-corruption activities.
