The first week as the Minister of Defense of Ukraine: Rustem Umerov has summarised the results and outlined the priorities

The Minister of Defence of Ukraine Rustem Umerov outlined the main strategic goals, vision and priorities of the Ministry.

In particular, a warrior is the highest value, and therefore must be provided with everything necessary. The next point: zero tolerance for corruption The Minister also announced new international coalitions to strengthen our Armed Forces.

In addition, Rustem Umerov briefed on important meetings with key stakeholders held this week:

With the President of Ukraine - presented the main priorities of the Ministry's work.

With colleagues from the Government - outlined the main areas of cooperation. Working meetings were held with the Minister of Infrastructure, the Minister of Strategic Industries, the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Internal Affairs, and the Minister of Digital Transformation.

With the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Parliament — discussed joint work on the creation of a mechanism for ensuring the rights of military personnel.

With the US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin — discussed the priority needs of Ukraine and the upcoming meeting in the Ramstein format.

With the Minister of National Defense of Canada Bill Blair — discussed steps to strengthen Ukraine's defence capabilities and the defence partnership program.

With the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell — discussed support for Ukraine, new principles of security policy.

With Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg — NATO standards in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, priority needs in armaments, and preparation for meeting in Ramstein format.

Besides that, meetings with international partners and allies were held during the annual YES conference.

Rustem Umerov also held meetings with the team of the Ministry - deputies, advisers, key employees - and familiarized with the current state of affairs in the Ministry.

“We already have a number of important agreements and results:

1. We are preparing the Defence Industries Forum with Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba and Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin.

2. A military cabinet, Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, teleconference with the President — there will be results that the enemy will feel.

3. In Ukraine, we are preparing everything necessary for F16 fighter aircrafts.

4. We are preparing for Ramstein meeting — we present the new IT Coalition, which will bring Ukrainian victory closer.

5. I held a meeting on the launch of the Non-Lethal Procurement Agency.

6. Together with the President, we congratulated the heroes of the tank troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who bravely defend our independence”, Rustem Umerov informed.

The Minister of Defence announced that the focus next week will be on rebooting the system and international politics.
