2023-08-30 20:10:00 | ID: 70590By the order of the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Oleksii Reznikov, dated August 28, another models of foreign weapons were put into service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This time we are talking about foreign-made artillery systems and mortars.
In particular:
152 mm self-propelled howitzer gun VZ.77 DANA
155 mm self-propelled gun Zuzana-2
155 mm self-propelled howitzer TRF1
105 mm howitzer M101
120 mm mortar M/41D
82 mm mortar EM-82
82 mm mortar Warrior 82
"This is an extraordinary breakthrough in the system of support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This practice has already been tested, and we use it for the steady and rapid cycle of adoption in the Armed Forces of Ukraine of foreign weapons and military equipment provided to Ukraine.
In times of war, we have no delays. The procedure is quite simple: the key factor in it is the presence of NATO code for a particular weapon system received as part of international technical aid.
Since the vast majority of the provided weapon and military equipment is already NATO-codified, it is being put into service in Ukraine by order of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
Using this procedure, we quickly and without delay, avoiding bureaucratic hurdles, go through the stages of document flow to put weapons and military equipment into service. This practice fully meets the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and match our partners’ approaches", the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Oleksii Reznikov, emphasised.
Since February 24, 2022, a total of 246 models of weapons and military equipment have been put into service and allowed to be used in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is hundreds of times more than in any year since Ukraine gained independence.
Among them, 32 models of unmanned aircraft systems were also put into service.
The function of providing the Armed Forces of Ukraine with models of the above-mentioned weapons is entrusted to the Central Department of Ground Weapons Systems Supply of the Logistics Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
