Update on the situation in the Joint Forces Operation area as of 17.00 February 16, 2022

Glory to Ukraine!

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue to ignore the agreements reached within the frameworks of the Trilateral Contact Group.

During the past day, the Ukrainian Defence Forces recorded 5 ceasefire violations committed by the Russian occupation forces, 2 of which by using weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements.

In the vicinity STANITSA LUHANSKA and NOVOZVANIVKA, the occupants fired 82mm mortars.

Near LOBACHEVE, the Russian-led forces used UAV to drop a VOG-17 grenade.

In the direction of LUHANSKE the enemy fired from tripod-mounted anti-tank guns and small arms. 

Near MARIINKA, the occupants fired at Ukrainian positions using small arms.

There were no casualties.

Positions of the Ukrainian Defence Forces remain intact.

The Joint Forces retain full control over the situation in their operation area and continue accomplishing their combat missions of defeating and deterring the Russian armed aggression.
