Minister of Defence of Ukraine congratulated military athletes on occasion of 2022 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony

The XXIV Winter Olympic Games are taking place in Beijing, China, from January 4 to January 20, 2022, in which more than three thousand athletes from around the world will compete for 109 prizes.

Forty-five athletes will represent Ukraine on the Olympic Games in Beijing in 12 sport disciplines: biathlon, bobsleigh, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, Nordic combines, luge, skeleton, snowboarding, ski jumping, figure skating, freestyle skiing and short track speed skating.

Sixteen representatives of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine are in the Ukrainian Olympic team.

The military athletes traditionally show worthy results on the Olympics and make weighty contribution to the Ukrainian Olympic team.

During Ukraine’s independence the military athletes became champions 27 times and won 27 silver and 31 bronze medals which contribute to the positive image of Ukraine in the world and of the Armed Forces in the society.

It proves a high level of professionalism of athletes, coaches and all personnel of the physical facilities of sport and culture of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
