MoD of Ukraine representatives conducted meeting with Latvian delegation

Deputy Ministers of Defence of Ukraine Oleksandr Polishchuk and Hanna Maliar conducted meeting with the delegation of the Republic of Latvia headed by Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Defence of Latvia Baiba Blodniece.

As part of the visit to the Ministry of Defence the Latvian representatives visited Hall of Memory of the Ukrainian defenders. 

On the Ceremonial ground the foreign partners honoured memory of the soldiers who fought to death for freedom and independence of Ukraine, and put flowers on the Stele with Bell of Memory.

The representatives of the MoD of Ukraine and the foreign delegation conducted bilateral negotiation concerning present security situation, perspectives and development of the bilateral co-operation.

In particular, Deputy Ministers of Defence of Ukraine Oleksandr Polishchuk and Hanna Maliar expressed gratitude for unyielding support of Ukraine, specifically the Latvian Seimas’ decision to hand over the defence equipment to Ukraine, and the joint application of the ministers of defence of the Baltic countries to transfer weapons to Ukraine dated 21 January 2022.      

Besides that, the Ukrainian part expressed thanks to Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Defence of Latvia Baiba Blodniece for training Ukrainian soldiers according to the NATO standards within the multinational training mission JMTG-U, and also for the advisory support on issues of the formation of the territorial defence and enhancement of the national stability.

Also, the visit to the Joint Forces operation area will take place this week.
