Update of the situation in the Joint Forces Operation area as of 11.00 January, 24 2022

Glory to Ukraine!

During the past day, January, 23 2022 Ukrainian Defense Forces recorded 10 ceasefire violations committed by Russian occupation forces, 8 of them by using weapons prohibited by Minsk agreements.

In the direction of VODYANE enemy troops 4 times used 120mm and 82mm mortars, different types of grenade launchers.

Russia-led forces twice shelled the defensive positions of Ukrainian forces near POPASNA village using 120 mm mortars, automatic heavy mounted grenade launchers and heavy machine guns.

In the vicinity of KATERINIVKA Russian occupation forces fired different types of grenade launchers and small arms.

Near the village of NOVOZVANIVKA enemy armed groups used 122mm artillery systems.

The enemy troops shelled the suburbs of PRICHEPILIVKA village using anti-tank grenade launchers and heavy machine guns.

Near the village of ZOLOTE-4 enemy armed groups fired 120mm mortars.

One Ukrainian soldier was WIA as a result of enemy shelling of Ukrainian positions. The serviceman is in the hospital in a satisfactory health condition.

The Ukrainian Forces had to fire in response to suppress enemy’s activity, strictly adhering to the Minsk agreements.

During the current day, as of 11.00 January, 24 2022 there were no ceasefire violations committed by Russian occupation forces.

There were no casualties in the current day.

During the past day the police units that are engaged in the Joint Forces Operation checked 2966 transport vehicles, 3643 persons, 1 of them was inspected for affiliation with the Russian Federation’s armed formations activity. 36 administrative violations were detected and 49 crimes were solved.

699 persons passed through entry-exit checkpoints to the occupied territory, and 872 persons to the territory controlled by Ukraine.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine pyrotechnic units of the Joint Forces demined almost 1,5 hectares of the territory, 1 item was transferred for the disposal of explosive ordnance in order to implement a set of security measures in the interest of civilian population.

The Joint Forces accomplishing their combat missions of defeating and deterring the Russian armed aggression.
