Update on the situation in the Joint Forces Operation area as of 07.00 January 23, 2022

Glory to Ukraine!

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue to ignore the agreements reached within the frameworks of the Trilateral Contact Group.

During the past day, the Ukrainian Defence Forces recorded 4 ceasefire violations committed by the Russian occupation forces, 1 of which involved the use of the weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements. Enemy troops dropped grenades from the UAV over the Ukrainian positions.

In the vicinity of TRAVNEVE and directly at TRAVNEVE, the enemy shot with automatic machine grenade launchers.

In the vicinity of VODIANE, in Donetsk region, the Russia-led forces shelled the Ukrainian position using 82 mm mortars and grenade launchers. Besides, the enemy troops dropped the VOG-25 grenades from the UAV over the Ukrainian positions.

One Ukrainian soldier was WIA as a result of enemy’s shelling. The serviceman is in the hospital in a satisfactory health condition.

During the current day, the Ukrainian Defence Forces recorded 4 ceasefire violations committed by the Russian occupation forces using weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements.

In the direction of VODIANE, the Russian occupation forces fired 4 times using 120 mm and 82 mm mortars and different types of grenade launchers.

There were no casualties in the current day.

Positions of the Ukrainian Defence Forces remain intact.

The Ukrainian Forces had to fire in response to suppress enemy’s activity, strictly adhering to the Minsk agreements.

The Joint Forces retain full control over the situation in their operation area and continue accomplishing their combat missions of defeating and deterring the Russian armed aggression.
