Minister of Defence of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov reported on his Twitter page.

‘The first bird has arrived. Ukrainians highly appreciate the US’s aid to strengthen the defence capability of Ukraine. I thank our strategic partner and US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin III personally for the determined support. To be continued,’ reported Minister of Defence Oleksii Reznikov.

The first of the several support package shipments to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the amount of 200 million dollars agreed by President Biden in December 2022 arrived at Boryspil international airport on the morning of 22 January.

The support package includes nearly 200.000 pounds of lethal weapons, particularly ammunition for the Ukrainian defenders on the frontline, and demonstrates the commitment of the US to the Ukraine’s inalienable right to self defence.

The last year the US provided security assistance worth of over 650 million dollars, including this support package and over 2.7 billion dollars in total of security assistance since 2014.

The United States will continue to provide support to the Armed Forces of Ukraine against the Russian aggression. As President Biden told to Putin, in case of Russia’s incursion in Ukraine, the US will provide even more equipment for the defence of Ukrainian sovereignty.

Furthermore, the US Department of State allowed Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia to send the US made weapons to Ukraine.
