Defence Minister Andriy Taran inspected military units and institutions located in Chernihiv

On June 24, Minister of Defence of Ukraine Andrii Taran paid a working visit to military units and institutions located in Chernihiv.

The head of the Defence Ministry was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Defence Oleksandr Myronyuk, Commander of the Operational Command “North” of the Army Maj. Gen. Valerii Zaluzhnyi and Head of the Chernihiv State Administration Andrii Prokopenko.

During a visit to the Operational Command “North”, Defence Minister Andrii Taran laid flowers at the Memorial to the Victims of the Anti-Terrorist Operation and Joint Forces Operation in the East of Ukraine and honoured the Heroes.

Minister of Defence also visited the State Research Institute for Testing and Certification of Armament and Military Equipment, headed by Col. Volodymyr Bashynskyi.

Andrii Taran got acquainted with the living conditions of the Institute's service personnel, as well as inspected modern items of armament and military equipment, which are directly tested by military specialists and supplied to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The working group inspected the company “Sivertex”, which produces tents, tent bases and equipment, brake parachutes for MiG-29 aircrafts, NBC personal protective equipment, etc. for the defence industry. In the future, it is planned to establish the production of parachute systems for the Air Assault Forces. Another area of the company's activity is production of control systems for guided aviation bombs.
