JFO News. Security situation UPD for 7 AM

On April 8, the Russian occupation troops have violated the ceasefire for 8 times.

The enemy shelled the JFO positions with 120mm and 82mm mortars which are forbidden by the Minsk agreements. The Russian occupation troops also used different grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms. Units deployed to the JFO opened adequate fire in response for the armed provocations of the Russian occupation troops.

4 ceasefire violations were recorded in the area of responsibility of the task force East (Donetsk direction). The Russian occupation troops shelled positions of Ukrainian forces not far from Pavlopil (20 mines) and Hnutove (8 mines) settlements with 82mm mortars. Our positions near Mariinka and Starohnativka settlements were shelled with wide range of infantry armament including grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms.

4 ceasefire violations were recorded in the area of responsibility of the task force NORTH (Luhansk direction). The Russian occupation troops shelled Ukrainian positions near Novoleksandrivka settlements with 120mm (17 mines) mortars, as well as 82mm mortars not far from Orihove settlement. For two times, the enemy opened fire with antitank grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms near Zaitseve settlement.

Joint Forces opened adequate fire in response to the armed provocations of the Russian occupation troops. According to the intelligence data, 5 Russian mercenaries was WIA. Any other armed provocations of the enemy will be met with harsh response.

As the result of the Russian armed aggression, 1 Ukrainian serviceman was WIA.

From the beginning of the day, ceasefire violations were recorded. The enemy used antitank grenade launchers and heavy machine guns to shell the JFO positions near Krasnohorivka and Novomykhailivka settlements.

No COVID — 19 infection case among personnel of the Joint Forces units was recorded.

Situation in the JFO area is under full control of the Joint Forces.
