Initial Conference on Preparation of Ukrainian-American Exercise Sea Breeze-2020 was launched in Romania

An initial conference on the preparation of the Ukrainian-American Exercise Sea Breeze-2020 was launched in Bucharest, Romania, on November 18. The aim of the conference is to conduct overall planning of the multinational exercises in 2020. The event was attended by representatives of various NATO member and partner states.

Safe operations at sea, stabilization actions on land and air operations in the conditions as close as possible to combat in accordance with NATO standards are the main tasks which should be discussed during the conference. The training of multinational forces to conduct a security operation in a crisis region is focused on anti-boat, anti-ship, air defense, coastal and river operations, protection of critical infrastructure, mine action, and maritime interception operations.

Sea Breeze exercises are intended to become one of the important tools for the transition of the Ukrainian Navy to NATO standards. The conference provides an opportunity to exchange views on the planned event, outline specific goals and objectives that will be in the core of the exercise, agree on the location of the event. Participants will also discuss the number of personnel and assets from each of the member state draft scenario and the plan of the exercise are to be concluded as the result of the conference.
