The Operation UNIFIER Transfer of Command Authority ceremony was held at the International Peacekeeping and Security Centre

On April 14, the Canadian Forces Operation UNIFIER Transfer of Command Authority ceremony was held at the International Peacekeeping and Security Centre (IPSC). The Joint Task Force — Ukraine Commander Lieutenant-Colonel Pierre Leroux, passed the command to Lieutenant-Colonel Frederick Côté.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Ukraine Mr. Roman Vashchuk, The Canadian Joint Operations Command Chief Of Staff Operations Rear-Admiral Brian Santarpia, Canada’s Honorary Consul Ms. Oksana Wynnyckyj-Yusypovych, and other high guest visited the IPSC to attend the event and congratulate Canadian Forces personnel.

The head of the National Army Academy Lieutenant-General Gen. Pavlo Tkachuk sincerely thanked for full support and help in strengthening defence capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He also awarded the Canadian Forces servicemen on behalf of the Minister of Defence of Ukraine and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“I am sincerely grateful to Lieutenant-Colonel Pierre Leroux, who led the Canadian contingent during the last six months, for significant contribution to the training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine servicemen and units. I am deeply convinced that our further cooperation will contribute to the personnel training,” said Lieutenant-General Pavlo Tkachuk.
