Exhibition dedicated to illegally detained Ukrainian sailors was opened in Vilnius2019-08-12 11:50:00 | ID: 51676
Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Lithuania Volodymyr Yatsenkivskyi in concert with the Embassy staff took part in the opening of a charity painting exhibition in support of Ukrainian Navy sailors which were illegally detained by the Russian Federation on November 25th,2018.
The event was arranged by the Yevhen Konovalets Foundation (Kaunas) with the assistance of Lithuanian and Ukrainian volunteers, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine and the Embassy of Ukraine in Lithuania.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by the well-known Ukrainian volunteer Victoria Khrystenko, the father of one of the captured sailors Dmytro Eider with his daughter Gabriela, Lithuanian activists, representatives of Ukrainian community and the media.
Participants of the event had the opportunity to get acquainted with paintings made by Ukrainian artists and dedicated to captive Ukrainian sailors.
A charity auction was also held of paintings made by ATO / JFO veterans and their families. Money which were raised during the event will be used to help families of the sailors which are illegally detained by the Russian Federation.
